Forty-nine-year-old Courtney Love has established herself as musician, actress, and author. However, the IRS is claiming that the rock star owes the federal government more than $250,000.
Last month, the IRS reportedly placed a lien on Ms. Love’s property. The lien, filed on July 11, 2013, allegedly indicates that Ms. Love failed to pay $3,236.23 in taxes during 2009 and that Ms. Love failed to pay $263,624.78 in taxes during 2011. That brings the alleged outstanding tax debt to $266,861.01.
This is not the first time that Courtney Love has allegedly owed the IRS money. In 2009, the IRS reportedly filed a tax lien for unpaid taxes from 2007. At that time, the IRS filed a lien against Courtney Love’s Los Angeles property. The amount of the 2009 lien was reportedly $324,335.21. Ms. Love did not refute the 2009 lien, but rather allegedly blamed the outstanding taxes on her former business manager. She has reportedly satisfied that tax debt.
There was no immediate response to the current claims against Courtney Love in the media.
