3 Tips for Handling Your Payroll Tax Problems With the IRS

Recently, we wrote a library article about the three worst mistakes you can make when you deal with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) to resolve a payroll tax problem. It is important to know about those things so that you can avoid them. However, that information alone will not help you solve your outstanding payroll tax issues. Instead, you need to know what specific steps you can take to help resolve these problems and move on with your life.

3 Things You Can Do Now

As you start the process of resolving your Oklahoma payroll tax problems, it may be important to:

  • Go through your records. You want to confirm that you actually owe the back taxes the IRS says you owe. You also want to have documentation to provide to the IRS in support of your attempts to settle your outstanding tax issues.
  • Come up with a plan to get out of debt. Do not leave this up to the IRS. Instead, stay in control of the situation by being the one to suggest an alternative plan to satisfy your tax debt.
  • Get legal help. You do not have to handle this alone. Instead, you have the right to consult with a lawyer to help you come up with a solution to your payroll tax issues.

Have You Been Here Before?

Have you successfully resolved payroll tax issues in the past? What worked for you? What didn’t? Please leave a comment on this blog post and share your thoughts with other Oklahoma business owners who may be facing similar problems.

Thanks for the tips on handling IRS problems! My wife feels like she didn't get her full tax return last year so we don't want to make the same mistakes. I like that you suggest staying in control of the situation by being the one to suggest an alternative plan to satisfy your tax debt. Having control of the situation and exploring other options would make me feel much better about this. Thanks for sharing! http://www.floridataxsolvers.com/services/

I've never really known much about IRS until today. I've been reading different articles, and I there's so much detail to them. I hope that I don't run into issues with them as I get older though. http://www.irsproblemsolverstx.net/services
